The Interceptor has gradually become a more and more popular helicopter for beginners and intermediate pilots, and as is the way with such helicopters, there comes a time when people really want to upgrade from the original plastic parts to CNC (machined aluminium) to get better and slicker control, better performance etc.

To that end, I am now developing two different upgrade versions. The first I am calling the Interceptor 400-PRO, the second I will be calling the Interceptor 400 Firestorm, due to the amount of red CNC that will be present in it. (Almost everything will be Red CNC in the black Aluminium frame)

Shown above is my in-house prototype of the INT400-PRO with the CopterX CNC head and tail fitted, plus one of my well finished fibreglass canopies that you can choose from.

It had it's maiden flight this last weekend (October 17, 2010) and flew extremely well. 

It was super smooth and on this one I had also fitted the KDS Flymentor stabilisation 
system as a trial, and this also worked very well, maintaining an 
excellent level hover if left to it's own devices.

I flew some gentle figure 8's at about 30 feet up which showed excellent, 
smooth banking control and the tail control using a Hitec HS65 servo 
coupled to the Acer Lab G1000 gyro was great.
  

On the left is the "genuine" INT400 CNC head that is available for fitting to the Int400-PRO.

The other available heads/tails are the CopterX and Align (Trex) 450 versions

I am working on providing an all new helicopter for pilots that want a really nice helicopter with either just the full CNC head and tail etc at a very reasonable price, or even a full spec, totally CNC and carbon fibre helicopter.  I can even offer them in CCPM or the normal 90 degree swash mechanical mixing format.

The PRO version starts life as an Interceptor 400, which is a more and more popular 400-450 size helicopter with a strong aluminium frame, but the Interceptor-PRO will have a full CNC head and tail assembly, a longer Align boom (and drive belt) to provide even  better tail stability and control.

The changes that make the basic Interceptor-PRO what it is are shown below :

These helicopters will only be built to order, and if you wish, you can specify different parts that you want fitted.  If you have a computerised radio already, I will set it up to suit both the INT400-PRO and your own personal skill level.

The Firestorm version will also start life out as an Interceptor 400 kit, but it will not only have a full CNC head and tail assembly, but also a carbon fibre boom, and almost every other part that reasonably needs to be upgraded will be provided in CNC, including bearing mounts, boom mounts, tail servo mount, etc etc
