A built Vario MD 900 kit (by Vario)The real thing in UK Air Support Colours
October 24,
2009
Well, another
wet and dreary day in Blackpool, with gusty winds as well, so into
the hanger we went.
Unfortunately,
I am now getting held up by the lack of the Engine Kit from Vario,
so to an extent am just filling in time, and to that end, I decided
to add a little more detail to the cockpit area.
My first
thought was to add some switchgear to remove the total flatness of
the *rather nice) Vario instrument panel transfers. I searched
around and came up with some coloured map pins that were just abut
the size I wanted.
Here are the
results of my map pinning....
I also rough
cut the glazing material and taped it into position to check how
clearly the cockpit detail can be seen through the tinted material
So here is the start of the
glazing, although it isn't going to be fitted for quite a
while yet.
I had some spare time, and some spare bits of
GRP, so I decided to make a Wire Cutter for the top, as
after all these helicopters fly Nap Of the Earth (NOE) most
of their time, so may well need one ?
What do you think, should
it be added and painted ?
And finally,
a short video showing the tail surface navigation lights under
test.
The boom is not connected to the helicopter at this time
